Over the years, we have been asked a number of questions about the service we provide, and the software that we use to provide it, as well as pricing for same. Some seem to re-appear regularly, so we have tried to summarise a few of these here in the hope that potential clients can better evaluate whether we will be able to adequately address their needs.
We use the term to describe the process by which we create deliverables for our clients. By creating a 3-dimensional model of the client's site or proposal in a computer, we are free to set up virtual cameras and view it from a range of angles, unhampered by irritations such as the laws of physics!
The actual finished product is often provded in a 2-dimensional format, such as images or animation, but the process used to create that final product uses 3-dimensional data inside the computer software.

When working on visuals, are there any limitations to what you can create?
Limitations are enforced mainly by budget and deadlines. By working closely with the client, we aim to provide as near to an ideal return on their investment as possible within the time and budgetry constraints. Theoretically the limitations are few - computer software allows great freedom in the creative process, but as with all things, complex output takes time to create and render, and is never as easy as clicking a single button and having the computer create everything for you!
Can you produce "before and after" images?
Yes - this is a common type of project for us to undertake. Below is an example visualisation created to show before and after scenarios for the proposed development of an inner-city green space into school playing fields (click the two thumbnails for larger images).
Can you provide animated output?
Certainly - in a variety of formats. Please see our visualisation page for more information.
Below are some frames from previously create animations (click on the thumbnails for larger images).
I am familiar with Google Earth. Can you create similar interactive models of my proposed site, using my survey, or other data?
Yes. We can use your site data to create 3D interactive models of your proposals. These can include foliage, and 3D strutures such as buildings and bridges. The final output can be provided in a number of formats, including Google Earth KMZ. We also use 3D Nature's proprietary realtime viewer, NatureView, to create similar products without the need for installation of additional software.
Some formats are better suited to certain types of visualisation than others, so please see our visualisation page for more details, and feel free to contact us with your requirements, and we can advise you on the best course of action before making a decision.
Click the thumbnails below for examples of realtime output created previously for clients. These are screen captures of the terrain model loaded into the realtime viewing software.
I would be interested in creating my own visuals in-house. Can you provide me with the software to do so?
To an extent, yes. We are the preferred resellers and instructors of the 3D Nature product line in the Asia-Pacific region, and can not only provide you with the software but technical support also.
Please visit our software and training pages to see the range of products and instruction available, and contact us for a more detailed quote should your requirements not be met on those pages.
Do you ever offer "bundle deals" - ie: software and training together, at a reduced rate?
Yes - when such deals are available they will be advertised in the "Recent News" section of our home page, as well as on the software and training page. Previous offers have included a 10% discount on software purchased at the same time as training, and "early bird" discounts for early booking on scheduled training courses.
If I buy software, are upgrades free? What about technical support?
If the software manuffacturer is offering a free update, we will never charge for it.
In the case of 3D Nature software, interim updates are all free, and available direct from the 3D Nature website. Full build updates (ie:v1 to v2, or v2 to v3 etc) incur an upgrade fee, although this is never as much as a full, new license of the software.
All products sold by us come with free, lifetime email support. That is to say we will provide email support as best we can for as long as we are available to do so. Telephone support contracts are also available, but incur a yearly fee. please contact us for details.
How much do your services cost?
The cost of a project depends on the complexity of the project, the length of deadline, the number, resolution and type of deliverables, and whether the job can be compeleted without incurring additional expenses (such as travel, accomodation etc).
There is no set fee - each job is evaluated on an individual basis, but feel free to contact us with more details and we will endeavour to provide you with a more accurate quote.
